Determining AGE of very old, unopened can

I was given a very old, unopened can of Colt 45 that was purchased some time in the 70's by the in-law's; there is no tab or opening in the top of the can -- it is sealed in recyclable aluminum. I was wondering if I could find out exactly when and where this can was manufactured since they weren't dating their products back then. The product code is stamped on the bottom; the can is not dented or damaged at all. If anyone knows how this information could be obtained, please advise.

I like to thank Monica Hernandez of Pabst Dist. Dept. for helping me find Pabst Beer here in Yucca Valley Ca. I was a Bud Light Drinker but they sold out America
so now Pabst is my Beer. After tasting my first Pabst in about 20 years I really do enjoyed the sweet taste of it. Go big Red White and Blue Ribbon.Your my beer now

Will Schlitz Dark beer ever be created again, it was the best keg beer we ever found in the 70's if it was brought back I would buy it!!! and give a few new generations a taste of what life was like in the 70's and early 80's!! What is the possibility of it returning?

How about some new merchandise? I got most of the stuff on there, plus a bunch more bootleg Pabst stuff. There used to be cozies/coozies. I've got two but they are all hogged out cuz I've been stuffin 24 oz. cans in em at my bar. Stickers, mugs, glasses. Hell I want a Pabst bowling ball and a snowboard. Belt buckles, I've got 11 and I want more. PBR me ASAP!!!

My wife and I went out for our anniversary. It was a pretty nice place with many micro and imports to pick from. I did notice they had PABST Blue Ribbon in bottles. When the waiter asked if I wanted anything from the bar, I proudly said,"I`ll have a Pabst Blue Ribbon"! He answered , "Excellent choice" .

If your favorite dining establishment doesn`t have Pabst, make sure you ask WHY NOT!

I'm only 23y/o. I know a good beer when i see it. I'm from Wisconsin. We have a lot of beer here. I started with bud light then Miller Light, went back to bud light, now i am a real beer drinker with my PBR. I only buy 30packs for my fridge. when i was in college in Nashville,TN, my roommates were drinking Natural Light and "feeling" drunk. I could drink that all day and night and not get drunk. I showed them what a real beer is and now that's all they drink.

ok, so this may not have to do with the website, as much as it pertains to the spreading of the good pbr word.

as a bartender in las vegas, i have has to search miller high and coors light low to find places that are in stock of my favorite brew. in doing so, i have smeared the truth about beer all around the city, and turning a fine group of folks onto this delicious beverage.

and my thought is now, what if i could do that internationally? we all are aware that pabst blue ribbon is the beer of choice for american hip and punk rock, but what about the uneducated masses that encompass the rest of the free world?

i have decided to begin my own international guest bartending industry, and would like to ask if pbr would join me in my crusade. it would be profitable for all involved.

Suggestions for PBR website - historical info

Pabst beer has a long, proud history. To convey that to more people I think some sales figures (volume of cases or barrels or whatever) from the past should be listed on the website. A list of past awards would also convey the quality and popularity of Pabst. Statistics could mention when Pabst was one of the top 5 beers in the US. Buying decisions are influenced by advertising. New and different adverstising is needed to promote consumption. When my friends see me drinking Pabst in Jackson, MS the most common comment I get is "I didn't know they still made Pabst". Pabst has been difficult to find in Mississippi. Things are improving lately with Kroger and come Chevron convenience stores now carring a few 12 bottle packs. Cans of Pabst are not available in Jackson. A few places have in on tap and it is very inexpensive relative to the other popular national brands. Pabsts needs to recruit the next generation of Pabst drinkers --- the college age crowd.

I once heard or read that Pabst was the number one selling American beer in China. Is that true?

Given the popularity of all the microbrews and imports, I would love to see a Pabst Dark or Pabst Amber perhaps under a differnet name for a new image. I realize that is difficult to do as Miller is the contract brewer for Pabst.
