I love pabst, my mom got me started on it way back, and it is the best beer going, bar none. Other than the flavor, one of the things that makes me drink pabst blue ribbon is the fact that it proudly displays "UNION MADE", right on the side of the can.

I know that a lot of beer is union made, but as a proud TEAMSTER, and proud to be the son AND grandson of United Auto Workers, PABST IS THE LAST AMERICAN UNION MADE BEER. Buttwiper just sold out, Miller sold out a while ago, and what else does that leave us, other than homo-microbrews and foreign beer?

I think it would be interesting to show which states drink the most Pabst. You could do it by population, percentage or just amount sold. I'll wait and see. I've got a good feeling about Maine's ranking.

I'm looking to find an online store that sells pbr in bottles, as they are not available in my area. Ive heard it taste better out of a bottle and would like to try it for my self. If anyone knows of any stores in northern missouri that sell bottles that would be great too!

In eastern Pa. we call 16oz cans or bottles pounders, you know 16 oz's toa pound, i've heard them called tall boys in Richmond Va., what are they called in your corner of the world. also i am making a cd of songs that reference pbr any help with titles would be great.one more thing, how do they do it, how do they make it so good so cheap, at these prices you can't afford not to drink it.

Let me tell you a story about my friend Ken. (R.I.P. not due to PBR)

Ken was a "nay-sayer". he disagreed with everything, every point I made in our discussions. One point: He said Bud was "king of beers" because of successful marketing. Not exactly, I said. Bud Light is, indeed. But people accept the claim for Budweiser because of TASTE. It simply holds up, beer after beer, and doesnt taste like water after your 4th one. (as like BL or Busch or any Miller product)

He still disagreed.

Well, I told him I'd prove it.

Picture this: 2 families, going on a 3-day camping outing. "Bring the beer" Ken told me.

"Nooooooo problem" I thought. I picked up (2) 30-packs of PBR.

Ken bitched and complained. He was stuck. We were 45 miles from the nearest grocery. I told him: "Pabst put the "blue ribbon" on this can because they EARNED it. NOT merely for marketing. Taste it to find out why."

Well, as you already can guess, he became a believer. And scoffed at ALL others foresaking variety for flavor. The only other beer he drank after that was the stuff we made ourselves.

I'll make this one quick:

Adam complained that only Miller products didnt give him headaches, and subjected himself to their beers only.

That is, until I told him about PBR. Today he sings the praises of a beer with FLAVOR without the headaches. He even bought me a PBR shirt to thank me.

What happened to the bar cases

I live in Connecticut and the liquor store I frequent used to sell these sweet 24 cases of bottles. I don't know what they're called, but we used to call them bar cases (most bars receive their bottles in nondescript boxes). Anway, I went into the liquor store a couple of months back and the owner tells me he can't get them anymore. Matter of fact, he can't even get bottles anymore. I thought he was B.S.'ing till I couldn't find them anywhere. What happened!? I'm truly and honestly outraged if either is no longer available in the northeast.

I tried PBR after a cousin from back east recommended it. Georgia to be exact. Here in Southern California it's a bit hard to come by, but now it's the only beer I buy. LOVE IT!

Why O Why did PBR stop brewing this nectar??? Andeker is my all time favorite beer. I cannot believe with all the microbrews on the market, people always looking for something great to try, that Pabst won't start brewing Andeker again. I just hang my head in sadness until maybe someday they dust off the old receipe card and throw a batch together for me.

PBR in Quebec

As a fan of PBR, I must say that in Quebec city, Canada, we are the one that are forgotten.

My friend and I are good drinker of PBR, and colt 45 (for the rough night), but we can't drink PABST Product in bar here, and we cannot participate to the art contest. WHY? Tell me WHY?

I've been a PBR drinker all my adult life. Years ago in college, Old Mill was frequently the beer served at parties 'cause it was CHEAP. Could not EVER manage to get one down. Lately, {twice in past month} I've gotten Old Mill cans mixed in w/PBR's in 12packs. can't tell the difference. went and bought Old Mill, mixed it in w/PBR in my always full cooler, and could NOT tell the difference w/out lookin' at the can. So, since BOTH of 'em are brewed under license by Miller, leads me to believe that Miller is/has cut corners and just stickin' the SAME BEER in different cans. I believe they{Miller} also brew Strohs, Shilitz, and several other "brands" under license, but those brands are not carried where I shop. Someone should do a blind taste-test with them. Personally, though I still drink ONLY PBR, I don't believe the beer has been the same since the brewery in Pabst Ga. was closed.

I found a small butane lighter at a yard sale recently. I was super psyched because it is shaped like a beer bottle and has the label of Pabst Blue Ribbon, but the writing is mostly Chinese characters and it is called PI JUIPING beer and is maybe made by or in Shang Hai? Don't know, just curious. The even funnier thing is that if you leave it lit too long it melts the plastic rather quickly. I'll see if I can post any pictures of it. Later

30 Pack Cans

I love the 30 pack cans and generally have one or two in the fridge. The problem is that the suitcase handle always tears. It is on the top shelf at my beer store and I am always getting something else also. The torn handle makes it very difficult to carry out of the store because I have to ensure that the pressure is applied evenly when carrying it so it does not tear completely. More than once there has been a 30 pack taped up with 30 dented cans sitting beside the cooler at the store. How about fixin' that for me.

I read about Membership Cards on a few post and didnt seem to get an answer or directed in the right direction to get myself one. If they do not exist anymore how hard could it be to adapt a system to spit out numbers and get them passed out to people I think with some of the creative people in the PBR community we could come up with a great looking card.

Here in SE N.C. we have a great one called "Uncle Will's". Fantastic flavor, lotsa spine, and they don't go "POOF" and turn to dust when you take a bite. There is a possible national brand found at super Wal-Mart call "Mac's Cracklins". They are crunchy & have some fried-out fat on them, but not too much. Some of the best ones may cause you to put the dentist on speed dial, but are usually worth it. I have only broken 1 tooth to date, lucky me. Maybe the best are regional, I have not found anything better than what is here locally. What say you? Maybe we could start a pork rind trading post so everyone can sample other's favorites. I forgot to consider that anything tastes better with a cold PBR, except maybe ice cream. No ice cream float recipies please! OK, your turn, what's your favorite pork rind? PART 2- What is your favorite hot sauce to put on your pork skins? Mine is Valentina Black Label Extra Hot hot sauce. Don't let the name fool you, it's not that hot, just great flavor. They make a milder, white label (sometimes red or gold label according to region) that is better than most. A good hot sauce should have a good taste and some spark, to keep it honest. You can get the 1 million scoville units hot sauces that are pure heat & hurt with no redeeming value, but why take away your sense of taste? I say more flavor, not too much heat. So who's hot sauce do you prefer on your skins? I know that you have to sit down that cold PBR to type, but short answers will do fine. Thanks for any replies-JW

Just wondering how many of you actually drink Pabst Genuine Draft on a regular basis? I'll admit, I've never tasted it, I can only get it by the case where I live and I always go with PBR. But lately the local Food 4 Less store I frequent for PBR has been stocking a HUGE amount of Genuine Draft cases that don't seem to be moving... at all. Kind of ticks me off b/c I see it as valuable shelf space that could be used for PBR. Pabst keeps cranking out the stuff though so there must be some of you all drinking it. Just wondering.

PBR has always been my favorite canned beer.
