Pabst beer has a long, proud history. To convey that to more people I think some sales figures (volume of cases or barrels or whatever) from the past should be listed on the website. A list of past awards would also convey the quality and popularity of Pabst. Statistics could mention when Pabst was one of the top 5 beers in the US. Buying decisions are influenced by advertising. New and different adverstising is needed to promote consumption. When my friends see me drinking Pabst in Jackson, MS the most common comment I get is "I didn't know they still made Pabst". Pabst has been difficult to find in Mississippi. Things are improving lately with Kroger and come Chevron convenience stores now carring a few 12 bottle packs. Cans of Pabst are not available in Jackson. A few places have in on tap and it is very inexpensive relative to the other popular national brands. Pabsts needs to recruit the next generation of Pabst drinkers --- the college age crowd.

I once heard or read that Pabst was the number one selling American beer in China. Is that true?

Given the popularity of all the microbrews and imports, I would love to see a Pabst Dark or Pabst Amber perhaps under a differnet name for a new image. I realize that is difficult to do as Miller is the contract brewer for Pabst.

Unlike some other areas of the country, Pabst is hard to find in Mississippi but things are getting better regarding availability. Kroger stores and some Chevron convenience stations usually have 1-2 twelve bottle packs on had. Wal-Mart stores used to carry it but they don't currently have it.

What I would like to see on the Pabst website is more statistics that document sales figures and sales rankings. Pabst was --- and still is ---- a fine beer. Publishing those satistics could help people realise how prominent Pabst once was. At one time Pabst was the number 3 or 4 beer in the country. Lot's of Vietnam veteran vets say they had it in-country. I heard Pabst was the number one selling American beer in China.

My own theory is that most people drink what they see advertised. Sponsorship of the race car is a good idea.

Pabst's needs to focus it's marketing efforts on college-aged people. It's all about recruiting the next generation of Pabst drinkers. The beer is very inexpensive when served on draft in the few places where it is available in Jackson, MS restaurants and bars.

Increasing the availability in Mississippi may help. The most common comment I get when my friends see me drinking a Pabst is "I didn't know they made that anymore".

I would like to see a Pabst Dark beer or other new offerings. I realize this is difficult when a brewery dosen't actually brew any of its own beer. I think I am correct in stating that Miller brews all of it.

Schlitz is only available at one pizza place in Jackson, MS.

That's funny about the comment "I didn't know they made that anymore"  because I get that too.  I mentioned this in another post...PBR will rise again!

I love it when a plan comes together.

I am very pleased to report that as of July 2009 Pabst is much easier to find in Jackson, MS. More bars have it on tap and it's popularity is growing among young people. Prices for a 12 pack have risen slightly from $6.49 to $8.29 at area Krogher stores but it is still priced lower than most brands except Miller High Life.

One of the employees of the local beer distributor came into the liquor store where I work part time. I asked him if he could deliver some Schlitz to a store near my home. He promised to do so and I kept bugging the employees there to order it for me. They did and it seems to be selling OK since they are keeping a couple of 12 packs in stock.

I tasted the orginial formula of Schlitz at the 2006 Great American Beer Festival but want to try it again because I am used to the modern formula for Schlitz and prefer the taste of it.

If you're ever in Milwaukee, visit the Fredrick Pabst Mansion - it's a great old house.

Keep up the good work and sales will increase!

PBR should have some type of "petition" to get out to your local taverns and bars to have PBR On Tap. Places doing it are selling the heck out of it. PBR is just as good, if not better than Bud/Miller/Coors, and lots cheaper too. Also "we" need to get all our beer drinking buddies to start asking for PBR at the stores and bars we go to.

Grab the "comeback" statistics off the web and show them the numbers. PBR sales are growing more than any other sub-premium beer.
