Hey PBR-faithful,

With all of the news swirling around about American-ownership and the purchase of Budweiser by InBev, we thought it was a good time to clarify some things about Pabst.

1) Pabst is owned by a charitable trust based in California. The trust is actively involved in the support of medical research and eduction. We are American-owned and we are not owned by Miller.

2) PBR is brewed in 6 different brewing locations around the U.S. in facilities owned by Miller (a few were actually Pabst breweries at one time). But all of our beer is brewed under the supervision of Pabst's own Brewmaster, Bob Newman (come meet him at the GABF this year), who won the Large Brewmaster of the Year at each of the last two Great American Beer Festivals. He and his staff ensure that all of our beer meets your and our high quality standards. Every can, bottle and keg of PBR is brewed in the U.S. using proprietary formulas which have been in place for over 150 years. In other words, just because we don't own the buildings doesn't mean we don't brew our beer!

If you have other questions about us, don't hesitate to post them here and we'll do our best to answer them. In the meantime, do your part in setting the record straight when you hear things that contradict the facts we have communicated here.

Thanks for that info! I'm a first time writer to this forum and have been true to the Blue since I snuck my first beer from my fathers basement fridge circa 1972. Hello to all of you who have discovered the magic of this American beauty!

Living in Milwaukee, I've watched this beer machine make one mistake after another in terms of the business of brewing beer. Although ashamed of these mistakes, I'm proud of the history and initiative taken in years past to give Milwaukee its name "Brew City."

My brother in law is also a loyal drinker of the Ribbon and said to me last night that with Budweiser's recent buyout has made Pabst the largest American brewed beer. Could this be true???? Please let me know.

Looking forward to being a Pabst Pal with you all.

Stay well and be true to the Blue,

Brew City Bob

P.S - Having a half barrel of Pabst at my party tomorrow. I'll be sure to toast you all.

Stay true to the Blue!

While AB and MillerCoors still brew their beer in the U.S. and are bigger than Pabst, Pabst is now the largest remaining American-owned beer company. Thank for being loyal to us!

It's been posted in other areas but perhaps your the person to ask. Why O why with all the different micro beers flying off the shelves, why wouldn't Pabst brew ANDEKER again? Over the years I have seen PBR brew Light beer, Draft beer even Ice beer. But they have never given any shelf space to the sacred ANDEKER. Why not just a seasonal brew to start? It sure would be nice to have some of those gold cans in my fridge again..

In my best ghostly whispering voice...."Brew it, and they will buy"

MMMMM......BEEEEEEER!!!

Is Pabst stock available?  I want to buy some company stock of the beer I love!  I drink enough of it, I should own it.

I'm as good a person to ask as any, I guess. Pabst Brewing Company owns a lot of brands, like Andeker, and it's an ongoing challenge to determine which ones to invest in and which ones not to. Our focus lately has been on the re-launch of Schlitz with it's original 1960's formula. We haven't spent a lot of time on Andeker yet, but you never know...Thanks for the feedback and we'll keep it in mind.

Thanks
BC

Sorry. No Pabst stock is available at this time, as we are a privately-owned company. Maybe someday...

If it ever comes to be that one could own stock in PBR, a man could be happy.

Can I be first on the mailing list?

I have sit and wonder why Schlitz. A pretty good beer as I remember, but it was nothing different from any other pilsner beer. Strohs, a comparable, is still on the market with so so sales at best I'd wager. Why PBR would stick $ into pushing another adverage beer. Andeker on the other hand is a unique spectacular beer, that I think people would greatly anticapate if a seasonal brew was released. Like the Point brewery, when they brew Point BOCK in spring, if you wait until mid-late spring your outa luck, cuz all the stores are out of it.I am sure it would be the same for ANDEKER. I will wait patiently until PBR grants my wish.

MMMMM......BEEEEEEER!!!

Hey Semper, Thanks for the heads up. We moved our production to Miller facilities years ago to allow us to maintain our high quality standards. While we try to prevent the kind of thing that happened to you, it does happen from time to time. If you happen to still have the bottle, would you mind sending us the code printed on it? That would allow us to track where the problem occurred.

The code would be printed directly on the bottle, just below the neck label and look like the following:

04148
B80905

Thanks for drinking Pabst

Yes, I think bring back the Andeker name for a seasonal package would be a great hit.  Imagine a seasonal 8 or 12 pack of orginal recipe brews.. Andeker, Special Export, Jacob's Best and others.  I bought a case of Jacobs Best a few years ago in Wisconsin, but haven't been able to find it since.  Is it still brewed?

The reason I'm here is because I became interested in finding an American Owned beer.

It's funny, I used to drink Bud Light at my bar all the time.  But after Bud was bought out I switched to the only other draft in the bar-Miller Light.  And when the bartender asked me why, I said "I'd rather have  South African Miller than Belgian Bud."

And what happened is....people in the bar (other than myself) now ask for Belgian Bud, and to a lesser extent-South African Miller.  LOL!

Well, not long ago I was watching a NASCAR race when a Bud commercial came on touting America's beer.  It got me to thinking...which in turn, lead me here.

Why doesn't Pabst do commercials touting itself as America's beer?  I can just see a guy stepping up to the bar (maybe with a NASCAR or cowboy hat on) and asking for America's beer.

"Gi'me America's beer!"  The bartender gives him a Bud.

The guy says, "I don't want no Belgian Bud!"

So the guy hands him a Miller, and he says, 'I don't want no South African Miller."

"Whadaya got that's own by Americans?"  And out comes the Pabst.  To which the guy replies, "Now that's more like it!"

"Whad'll ya have?  Pabst Blue Ribbon - America's own, owned beer...

Most folks are clueless

With A-B's sale to a foreign company, isn't Pabst the largest American owned beer company in the country?  That being said, it might be time to consider bringing back the old Pabst label, Red White & Blue.

As great as that would be, there are no plans to open a brewery. Moving to contract brewers saved our company in many ways. The economics are such that it is very hard to compete with AB and MillerCoors at our volumes. So it just isn't feasible. Thanks for asking.

pbrclarke,

Don`t you think once PABST CITY , the redevelopment of the original Pabst Brewery, is complete , that they`d serve if not BREW Pabst Blue Ribbon on site?! How could there be a place called PABST CITY without PABST BLUE RIBBON!?
