I have an uncanny ability. (or just a sickness)  To notice the small things in movie scenes.  Especially when it is beer related.  Please post here ur Pabst spotings from any media.  Be descriptive about time and scene so everyone can enjoy!!

My first is in the movie "OLD SCHOOL".  Will Farrel wears a Pabst shirt in the scene when he is working on his camaro.  His wife brings out some iced tea while he blasts his radio.

The first time I ever noticed a PBR in any movie was in "Anchor Man".  In the beginning of the movie they are having a party.  The scene is Burgundy and (i may be wrong) Fontana are talking at a table.  There is a PBR can on the table.

I do have many more but i'll save them for everyone else!

Cool. I have always wanted to be able to share my "Pabst sightings" in movies.  Below are a few that I can recall:
  • In the original 1974 movie "The Longest Yard" there is a giant Pabst sign on the wall of the football stadium where the game against the guards is played.
  • In the the 1970 movie "MASH", Hawkeye and Trapper are often seen drinking Pabst.
  • In the 2004 movie "The Notebook" a young version of the character Noah is drinking a bottle of Pabst after working in his wood shop.
  • In the 1983 movie "Eddie and the Cruisers" Frank and Sal (I think) are drinking Pabst.

Let's keep 'em coming!

I actually just saw "Tenacious D's Pick of Destiny" (I don't necessarily suggest the movie) and saw the bartender at the club where they preformed 1st wearing a PBR bowling shirt.

It seems like I've seen it more than that so I'll throw a few more in when they come to me. Great topic though!

Not a movie, but I have also seen PBR on the small screen in shows such as "Reno 911", "Diners Drive Ins and Dives" and "Everest".

I'm sure more will come to me so I'll check back soon...

In Stephen King's book "Song of Susannah" the characters open cans of "blue ribbon beer."  They don't name Pabst directly, but its the only blue ribbon beer that I'm aware of.

Yes, I have seen the "mission Everest" show on discovery.  The old english dude who runs the trip has one.  They are playing cards in episode 4 or 5 and the distinctive PBR can is on the table.

I want to add another.  In the movie "Across the Universe".  It's the beatles music wrapped up in a movie, pretty good I might add.  There must be about 50 Pabst sightings.

Funny that you mentioned Across the Universe.  I watched that movie the other night and the most memorable Pabst sighting was toward the end when the guy who went to Vietnam was sitting at a bar.  There was a neon PBR sign behind his head which carried over into the "flashback" part of the scene.

I'm also a huge fan of spotting the PBR in movies.

Other than those mentioned, a few I can think of are:

1. Blue Velvet-- the classic Pabst reference, with Dennis Hopper putting the kibosh on a request for Heineken by screaming 'F*ck that sh*t! Pabst Blue Ribbon!"

2. Se7en-- Brad Pitt drinks it in the dinner scene.

3. Grindhouse (Death Proof) -- there's a Pabst sign up at the bar.

4. Thunder Road-- a Pabst sign up at the bar.

5. American Movie-- the lead charachter enjoys a 12-pack of Pabst.

6. Down to You-- Freddie Prinze gets drunk on a 12-pack of Pabst.

7. The Simpsons-- Moe gives Barney a Pabst at a 'Retox Center' after Barney gets sober in detox.

I'm sure I'll remember some more. But seeing Pabst in a movie always gets me giddy.

HA! I forgot about the Pabst token that Moe gives Barney for 5 minutes of sobriety (or something along those lines).  Good stuff.

I am actually going to take the music route…..
The video to "Lean on Sheena" by the Bouncing Souls, the father is drinking a Ribbon.
Link to site.. http://www.epitaph.com/videos/search/?q=bouncing+souls&artist=

In the song "Ruby Room" by the Foxboro Hot Tubs (Green Day’s new band) here is a line :
As a Pabst Blue Ribbon unravels.
WooHoo
Gonna drink my hard earned pay.
WooHoo
'Cause it doesn't matter anyway, yeah.
WooHoo
Seeing double on a one last one night stand.

And Kid Rock’s Forever..

Red white and the pabst blue ribbon
Dead right that's how I'm livin'

I am sure there are a ton more songs.

Hey that's pretty cool.  I didn't realize that there are songs with PBR in them.  I guess I don't really catch song lyrics very well.

How about the Johnny Russell song Red necks White socks and Blue Ribbon Beer

Here are the words to it:

REDNECKS, WHITE SOCKS AND BLUE RIBBON BEER
(Chuck Neese / Bob McDill / Wayland Holyfield)
Johnny Russell

VERSE 1:
There's no place that I'd rather be than right here
With my red necks, white socks and blue ribbon beer
The bar-maid is mad 'cause some guy made a pass
The juke box is playin' there stands the glass
And the cig-a-rette smoke kind-a hangs in the air
Red-necks, white socks and blue rib-bon beer

VERSE 2:
A cow-boy is cus-sin' the pin-ball ma-chine
A drunk at the bar is get-tin' nois-y and mean
And, some guy on the phone says i'll be home soon dear
Red-necks white socks and blue rib-bon beer

CHORUS:
No we don't fit in with that white col-lar crowd
We're a lit-tle too row-dy and a little too loud
There's no place that I'd rath-er be than right here
With my red-necks white socks and blue rib-bon beer

VERSE 3:
The sem-is are pass-ing on the high-way out-side
The four thir-ty crowd is a-bout to ar-rive
The sun's go-in' down and we'll all soon be here
Red-necks, white socks and blue rib-bon beer

REPEAT CHORUS:

TAG:
There's no place that I'd rather be than right here
With my red-necks, white socks and blue rib-bon beer

Hi, Just had to put this one in,

Not sure what the name of the movie is, but at the very end of it a Submarine came up out of the water and it was full of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Some old War movie. Still looking to see the movie again on AMC.

There is a scene in Purple Rain where Morris and somebody are talking on a sidewalk in front of a liquor store and the neon in the window is PBR
